Leave it to a book to change your perspective on life!
When some other books had taken me to some fun places such as Manhattan, Brooklyn and Dallas, describing every little detail I thought I'd never get lost in New York, or would immediately recognize the East River once I see it, and link it to lots of fantasies. This one had taken me to the real world, a world that most of us are unaware of still!
Reading this book I felt like living in one of those toy houses, playing games, having fun, totally ignorant of what's happening in the real life.
I picked this book up, because the black cover draw me in. and the title was nice and mysterious as well. I was afraid of starting with it, because it's a crime-fiction, and I'm not a one for those. But however reading the very first lines of the book I loved it, and instantly wanted to quote from it.
It started discussing the story of an old friendship, a one that technically died because of the silence between friends. But lived in their hearts till the end.
When the heroine's old friend leaves her a mysterious letter just a few days before she dies, the policewoman MC finds herself leading a private investigation in order to find out the reason behind it. It lures her into a different world, a one of illegal traffickers, prostitutes and criminals. A world with smuggling people, forced pregnancies and stolen babies. a world of terrorism.
I related to the Main Character, and felt her every pain and joy. I smiled a lot and cried even more. it was a great, unforgettable, insightful, thriller.
